How long have you been a student at One River? I have been a student at One River since Fall 2021, and I’ve  attended Summer Camp here for the last 2 years. I was originally in the Digital Art Shuffle class, then I signed up for the Animation class as well. I figured Animation would be a good skill to have since I want to be a character designer. The Portfolio class is my first traditional art class here. I love that we are able to work on and develop our own projects and I love seeing the variety of work that my classmates make.    Tell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist. Tell us a little bit about you and your background. Since a young age, creating has always been an outlet for me. I believe my art practice is such a crucial part of living a healthy lifestyle. I received my Bachelors of the Arts at Manhattanville College with a Major in Studio Art and a Minor in Psychology. Throughout my studies, I specialized in examining how having extracurricular hobbies such as art, music, and fitness, impact an individual’s health. Educator Showcase: Sam Chen

Tell us a little bit about you and your background. I graduated from SUNY Purchase with an Interdisciplinary BFA in Sculpture and Printmaking and I am currently enrolled at Hunter College to receive a MA in Visual Arts Education (K-12). I enjoy working with students of all ages and sharing the endless possibilities in art-making with them. I believe art can be an outlet to creatively discover the beauty within oneself while also encouraging them to become leaders in the classroom.   What attracted you to work at One River School?
