How long have you been a student at One River? 1 year Tell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist. I started off doodling and sketching and my mom suggested One River to help me become a better artist because I want to go to college for art. I have learned a lot in the past year and think I am a much better artist now. Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why? I got into puppetry and mask making a few years ago so last year I was really excited to go to camp here for cosplay and I’m doing it again this year! Students will think about the way painters use color, texture, and technique to create images that inspire emotion. Essential Skills: Students create an acrylic painting which uses non-local color and exaggerated features to create an unrealistic landscape. I graduated from William Paterson University with a B.A. in media & film production in May of 2018 and have been interested in the arts since a very young age. I have always had a love for movies and storytelling and I always loved creating many different projects/stories within the mediums of film, digital animation, and theatre. Read MoreTell us a little bit about you and your background. I started painting when I was 18. My dad and his mom were both artists and I grew up surrounded by art. I started with watercolor and quickly moved to acrylic painting when I fell in love with doing decorative art on furniture. I attended Farmingdale State College where I graduated the valedictorian of my class, majoring in Visual Communications. I worked at Hofstra University as a graphic designer for four years and then decided to go into teaching. I started teaching at Farmingdale State College in 2005 and have been an adjunct professor in the Visual Communications department there ever since.
