Inktober was a month long art challenge created by artist Jake Parker focused on improving skill and developing positive drawing habits. Every day throughout the month of October anyone participating in the Inktober challenge created an ink drawing and shared it online or at our One River Schools. I received a BA in Art History from American University in Washington, DC in 2016 and I decided to come back to Bergen County, NJ where I grew up after graduating. I started at One River as the Assistant Director opening our second location in Allendale and I moved to a corporate role in 2019. What attracted you to work at One River School? It’s funny because I responded to a job posting that did not disclose the name of the business but was looking for candidates passionate about art education. Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why? Botanical Collage – it was fun and I enjoyed experimenting with different styles & mediums. Fun, creative, and accepting – because of the overall environment and community What would you tell people who’ve never dabbled in art making are the real benefits to trying it?
