Tell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist. I started drawing more during 2019, and into the pandemic. At that point, I hadn’t even discovered digital art, and I had purely been drawing from reference. End of 2020 is when I started trying to improve because I got an IPad and began drawing digitally. I just drew whatever style appealed to me at the time, with no real direction. By 2021, I joined the Teen Art Shuffle class at One River School. That’s when my art started improving. I have always been interested in all kinds of media, video games, films, TV shows, etc. and that’s always been what’s inspired me, my style, and my identity as an artist. I then joined the Teen Focus on Manga class, which I’m still taking. I kept trying to improve my style mimicking the likes of Genshin Impact…
Read MoreTell us a little bit about you and your background. Both art and teaching have been a part of my life since I was very young. I started taking art classes when I was just six years old and I still remember my first ever art project was a fun little pastel flower, and pastels are one of my favorite art materials now! I started assistant teaching at an art studio when I was a teenager, and I was immediately hooked on teaching art. I have always known that I wanted to be an art educator, which led me to Ithaca College, where I studied and got my BA in Art Education. From there, I had some amazing opportunities managing studio spaces, teaching elementary and high school art, and exhibiting with different galleries. I have always been and will always be extremely passionate about art education, and I am so grateful…

I’ve been an artist my whole life, and as a teenager, I realized I also wanted to be a teacher. It was always important to me to be able to share the knowledge and joy I myself took from the art making process. This led me to study art, with a specialty in photography, while studying at Fordham University, and later, to pursue my M.F.A. in Fine Arts at Pratt Institute. In my own photographic practice I shoot a lot of landscape, street, and documentary-style photography, and relish exploring both digital and historic/alternative photographic processes, such as large format film, risograph prints, cyanotypes, and tintypes. I’ve been teaching digital photography to adults, teenagers, and children for nearly ten years, the last five…
Read MoreTell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist. I started getting into art a little bit before COVID, but when the lockdown happened is when I really started getting into it and spending more time learning different materials and subject matter. I remember I used to paint on the floors in my bedroom and watch tutorials on how to paint and draw in different ways and spent any free time on practicing. I want to pursue art as a career and go to school for art. Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why? The oil painting portrait project. I painted Billie Eilish and I had never used oil paints before so it was fun learning how to use all the different materials and how to layer the paints. I ended up…
