Tell us a little bit about you and your background. I am a realist commissioned artist, who specializes in portraits of all sorts, such as people, houses, places and pets in paintings, drawings and mixed media. Sometimes they are a traditional posed portrait, other times a special or everyday moment captured from life. My own artistic voice spans from mixed media character exploration of my alter ego, Ruby to painting from photos I’ve taken while traveling in my husbands homeland of Morocco, to moments in my life I feel I have to capture in a painting. Married with one son, we live in South Orange, NJ since 2012. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember and that followed me through university where I received my degree in Graphic Design and Animation at Rutgers. What attracted you to work at One River School? The course types and facilities made me think “wow I wish I had this when I was little” which is a sentiment shared by many of the parents we give tours to. Read MoreTell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist. I’ve always been really into digital art. I stared doing traditional art as a kid but when I got my first tablet I was really interested. It’s much more forgiving because you can resize and change things easily. There’s a lot more freedom in digital art. Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why? I am really enjoying my current project (Character Cards). In past projects I’ve made a lot of collages which helped me understand compositions.
