During the last few weeks, our schools presented their winter 2024 student exhibitions and the feedback has been amazing. The images coming across my desk represent a wide variety of compelling projects and spectacular outcomes, and you can clearly tell that our students have been fully engaged in the creative process. 

To be clear, we write all of our own lesson plans here at One River School … everything that we teach is original and we have been doing this for the 12 years that we have been in business. Each year, there is an arc to the curriculum that allows us to focus on teaching fundamental skills while also having fun, but when we get to our exhibition projects, the bar is raised a little bit higher and we see our students dedicate themselves in a more focused way. They know that the work is going to be hung side-by-side with all of their peer’s work and it adds a heightened sense of importance. This experience demonstrates our student’s capacity to channel their focus and their skills, and I am so proud of everyone who has participated across the system, including every student, teacher, and manager at One River.   

If you haven’t had a chance to visit your school in the last couple weeks, I urge you to stop in today. Walk through the galleries, take your time, stare deeply, ask questions, and most importantly, give a high-five to the students and teachers.
