Tragedy
I rarely write a serious note here, but given the weekend circumstances in the news, I felt compelled to share some thoughts.
The combination of tragedy in Australia and at Brown University, on top of this morning’s news about Rob Reiner and his wife, have me reflecting on the fragile nature of the life that we live. It is impossible to find words to describe each of these three situations and unfortunately it is far too common for us.
All I simply want to say here is that Hanukkah should be among the most joyous moments of the year. Going to college should be among one of our most joyous experiences. And, living your best life after you’ve given so much of your heart and soul to putting a smile on the world’s face, should not be interrupted like this.
Having said all of that, let’s embrace what we have and do our very best to honor those that we’ve lost.
Happy Hanukkah.
