Thanks
The other night as I walked out my house, I was confronted with this landscape in the distance. Besides being beautiful, it tells a broader story.
As Thanksgiving approaches and fall begins to turn to winter, this visual is an annual reminder for me that there is a cycle to our life that we need to cherish. It also triggers another thought for me that is just downwind from that one.
The sun only sets in that corner of the sky this time of year and it is a fantastic reminder for me that even though I hate the short days and the impending cold, I choose to look at this image as optimistic as opposed to gloomy. I also embrace it because I have no control over it.
Most importantly, I am quite grateful for having had one more lap around the sun, and the chance to reflect on what matters, my goal to spend more time helping others and the pure gratitude that I have for life.
Spending time with family, reflecting on the year that is now ending, and thinking about some new goals that excite us for the future is what I am serving up for the holiday.
Happy Thanksgiving
