Tell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist.

I became interested in art when I started taking classes here. I wasn’t that good when I started, but I grew to love art the longer I attended. I think that I have gotten better by working hard on the projects and being persistent. 

Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why?

My favorite project was doing the drawing of the eagle in the Kids Drawing class. It was challenging, but I liked how much time it took to complete. I liked being able to choose the type of shading I did, and learning the different ways to shade.

Describe One River in 3 words and tell us why

Fun, creative and challenging! I like coming to class and learning with everyone and seeing how the people in my class work on their projects. I like the challenge of learning new techniques for different projects and the range of art mediums that you can work in. 

What would you tell people who’ve never dabbled in art making are the real benefits to trying it?

I would tell my friends that it’s easy and fun to learn new things and show them some of the art that I have made. I would tell them that I didn’t used to be as good when I joined, but I have gotten better over two years with practice and persistence.
