Dillon and Agnes

Art making is a journey that allows you to reflect on what went into making an object long after it was completed. The same goes for building an art school or any business.

There’s some synergy in this photo that is worth describing as we reflect on the 10th anniversary of One River School. Dillon Corsair was one of our first students and Agnes Mauro was one of our first employees.

This photo was taken in 2016 when we decided to exhibit Dillon’s work alongside other teen students from our original location in Englewood, NJ. Today, Dillon is a student at the Sam Fox School of Art and Design at Washington University and we are so proud of him.

Agnes walked into One River School and helped me launch the business in the role of Assistant Director. She had studied art history and studio art and two years into working with us, Agnes decided she was going to pivot and get an MBA at night, while helping us grow our concept. Today, Agnes is our Senior Vice President of Operations and is the person most responsible for helping me validate our concept and extend it across the country.

It feels like a decade has gone by with a blink of an eye. I couldn’t be more proud of the work we have done at One River, our students who have challenged themselves to grow and our team that has worked hard to make it happen.
