On Friday, May 4, One River School in Allendale hosted its “Spring into Summer” event. The school was filled with families with children ranging of all ages who were able to partake in workshops, activities and learn more about the exciting features that One River School offers in the summertime.

One River School offers over 70 summer camps, as well as additional studio and digital art classes throughout the summer months. Workshops were instructed by the school’s staff and they even had a Mr Mustart, a street artist from Jersey City who came out to do a demo work outside of the school. The artwork is now on view in the lobby! Maeve Collins, the school’s Assistant Director, explained it was an “interactive section for people to get involved.”

During the event, the school also ran special discounts and included discount cards for prospective families to use for the weekend. Collins mentioned while they did have families RSVP online, however, a large majority of the turnout were walk-ins.

“It was incredibly successful, filled with high energy from our staff and all of the people attending. It was cool to see a working street artist do a demonstration and for people to get a feel for what our camps at One River are like.”

The school is looking to do a similar event for back to school time, as well as another “Spring into Summer” next year. To learn more about camps at One River in Allendale visit us online or call 201-466-1372.
