Entrepreneurship = Art-Making?

We have become enamored with entrepreneurship in America in a way in which I have not seen in my lifetime. Twenty-somethings and baby boomers are sharing the same spirit… the will and motivation to create something unique and to turn it into a profit generating entity.

Last night, I was reading the Rhode Island School of Design magazine and stumbled on the thoughts from the editor. She was talking about what artists and designers deal with, but it sounded to me like she was talking about entrepreneurs, “it takes effort – pushing, pulling, hitting the wall – along with tenacity, perseverance and a true belief in process to transform ideas and imagination into tangible form.”

In the near future, we are going to launch a new course that teaches how to start and build a new business. I love the comparison of making art and entrepreneurship. Now we can teach from both play books.
