It’s so simple for me to talk about new inspiration.  I really believe in the power of reinventing yourself and fortunately I have had the ability to put my belief to work.   I don’t mean you need to do something radical like start a new art school or gallery.  Take a little bite out of this apple: “what can I do that is fun and different”?  Of course, I hope that means take a class in digital photography or art or online marketing.  Or, it may mean traveling to Prague or visiting museums or creating homemade craft beer.

Personal growth is probably the one thing that drives me the most.  I want to develop new skills, taste new food, drink new wine or travel to new places because it is all part of learning for me.  I was blessed (or cursed) with a “need to know” inquisitiveness that sometimes serves me well and sometimes drives me crazy.

While I was building my career I always wanted to take a stab at teaching however I never could carve the time to do so.  Last month I started teaching my first class at One River in Online Marketing and I hope my students are enjoying the experience because I am loving it.  As the class has evolved I have watched the environment change and the furrowed brow of “I am not getting this” has started to evolve to “I have a long list to implement and where should I start”.   This has led me to think about expanding our Adult Continuing Education to teach other cool topics like: “Starting and Building your Small Business”, “How to Build an Art Collection” and other things.  We will be rolling these out soon so stay tuned.

New Year’s resolutions are so yesterday.  It’s not that complicated.  Find one or two things that will add more enjoyment or value to your life and get after it.  Everyone always has to diet, exercise and eat well.  These don’t count.  Go bungee off a cliff in Costa Rica or take a cool class somewhere in something.  You will feel much better about your life if you do.
