Creative Growth is the X Factor
People often ask me how I was able to write a book and the most frequent answer I give is: “I just did it”. I wasn’t looking for perfection; I was simply looking to tell a story that I had in my mind and do the best that I could.
So, when people tell me that “I can’t draw”, “I’m not creative”, “I don’t know where to start”, and so on, I tell them in the grand old words of Mr. Nike: “just do it”. We often hear that you’re supposed to enjoy the journey of life, but we get so obsessed with results. And as we age, we become so self-critical that we forget how to let go and tap into that childlike learner who tries things and grows because of it.
The process of writing my book taught me that I really do have a creative muscle that I didn’t know was there and the results of writing the book convinced me that it’s something that I enjoy doing and am pretty good at. In fact, the feedback that I’ve received on GROW or FOLD has been so rewarding because it motivates me to do more to help others and to double down on my creative growth.
Creative Growth: it is the X Factor for all of us…not just our kids!
