One River School of Art Readies to Meet This Summer’s Emerging Artists with Biggest Class Schedule Yet
From Cartooning to Street Art and Digital Design, art directors anticipate impressive student exhibits
(Englewood, NJ – June 10, 2024) – In its 12th year of providing the most innovative and compelling summer camps for students K-12, One River School today announced its full summer 2024 curriculum. There are more than 80 sessions to choose from so campers benefit from the largest and most variety in summer art class selection; something for all ages, abilities, and interests. In addition, the school uniquely blends a focus on summer fun with a true art education curriculum, culminating in an amazing camp experience that has campers taking pride in the outstanding works of art they produce.
“Summer is a time when kids want to unwind, explore, and have new and positive experiences with their friends, and One River School delivers,” explained Matt Ross, Founder and CEO, One River School of Art & Design. “Parents and students alike are wowed by how vast and unique our classes are. They also benefit from our commitment to Transforming Art Education® that carries through to our camps and unleashes the emerging artists within.”
Whether new to One River School or returning for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year at camp, there is always something appealing to campers who can custom-build their camp experience. A full list of the sessions and times can be found on each school’s website. A sampling of the classes offered, which all promote creativity, personal development, and wellness, includes the following:
Grades 6-12: Manga: Poses & Faces; Street Art: Galaxies; Cosplay: Headware & Helmets
Grades 3-5: Design Your Own Character; Learn to Paint Realistically; Pour Painting
Grades K-2: 3D Dinos; Jungle Murals; Picasso’s Guitars; Printmaking 101
“Whether I’m teaching Street Art to high schoolers, or the latest techniques in painting or digital character design to emerging elementary-aged artists, the win for me is seeing the joy come when they start to conceptualize their work, and then the pride and amazement they have when finish their final art piece,” said Shannon McGillick, Director, One River School Englewood, NJ. “By focusing on fun but using a true curriculum-based approach to art, the outcomes – the final art pieces each student produces – are tremendous and bring so much pride to each student.”
One River School offers summer camps at each of its 15 locations across Northern New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester County NY, and Fairfield County, Conn.
At the end of each camp session, students, parents, families, friends, and the media are invited to come and explore and celebrate the art exhibits that the school hosts.
