Inspired by classic picnics, lush landscapes, and summer treats, young artists will learn art techniques to capture everything from checkered blankets and lemonade to ants on a snack mission—transforming everyday picnic scenes into colorful works of art.

Happily Ever After: Storybook Art Camp at River Vale Community Center

Grades 1-5 | Join us for a new edition of our popular camp inspired by various children's books. Over the course of the week, we will read five stories, discover how their illustrations were made, and talk about the meaning of each story. We'll be inspired by the messages and visuals we've seen to develop a new artwork each day.
  • Develop reading, writing, and critical thinking skills during storytime
  • Sample a wide array of art media like watercolor, clay and collage
  • Complete 5 artworks influenced by stories
