Tell us a little bit about your journey as a young and developing artist.

As a young artist, I am still working to improve my skills and get better at the craft. I love to make art because it allows my imagination to come outside of my brain. I can’t wait to continue creating and further develop my art in the future!

Which has been your favorite project to work on at One River and why?

One of my favorite projects so far was the surrealist watercolor paintings that were in the student show. I am very happy with how my piece turned out and I had lots of fun painting all the details on the tongue and teeth. I also really like how my chalk pastel  portrait of a hairless cat turned out. It was fun to use chalk pastels because I had never tried them before.

Describe One River in 3 words and tell us why

Creative, Artistic, Fun because One River teaches me all the skills, explore different mediums and projects each month to put my own creative ideas down on my canvas.

What would you tell people who’ve never dabbled in art making are the real benefits to trying it?

I think that getting into art-making can be hard sometimes, but once you figure it out, it is very rewarding! It is a great way to express your ideas rather than hiding them away in a pocket in your mind forever. You don’t have to create a masterpiece right away so never doubt yourself when you first start!
