Tell us a little bit about you and your background.

I have a BA in Film and Audio-Visual Arts and have worked for a TV network for 12 years as a video editor, writer, director and producer for TV shows, and lastly managing a big production team as an executive producer of a children’s show. I became an educator when my family moved to Saudi Arabia and have been in education for over a decade in different capacities, teaching students from PreK-4th grade since then. I have also managed different after-school and enrichment programs and have thoroughly enjoyed developing the programs and connecting with the community, families, and students.

What attracted you to work at One River School?

Art has been the foundation of my life, growing up with my father who was an amazing multimedia artist and working with my brothers who are 3D gfx artists, whom I have trained and  worked with. I have also been involved in theater as an actor and director from elementary school to college.

My Dad passed away a year before and I needed a way to reconnect to my creative side as a homage to my Dad. One River School offered me that chance. Bringing in my marketing, production, and education experience, I knew One River School was a great fit and I am hoping that I can continue to grow our school to where it needs to be: the number 1 choice for families for their children’s creative journey!

How would you describe your team?

My team is comprised of talented and dedicated artists and educators. It was challenging at first to find a solid team with all the transitions that happened in our school but I am happy and grateful to my team for pushing through and their willingness to embrace change in order to have better project outcomes and to make sure that our students have an amazing experience.

What do you think we do best at One River?

One River’s approach to curriculum development is great and a lot of our families have been really impressed with what we can offer. Creating a gallery for local artists to display their art is also something special for the community and students to see and be inspired with.

Is there a special One River moment that stands out for you?

There are so many amazing moments at One River, but what resonated with me the most is when parents say how grateful they are to have found us and that their children have finally found a place where they can be their true self and find their own people.

Who or what motivates you?

The students’ and families’ love of One River motivates me the most and seeing how we are increasing the visibility of our school to our community inspires me to expand more!

What do you enjoy outside of One River?

I love spending time with my family, whether sitting together to watch a movie or going out on a hike. It’s always a must to have at least one day of just doing things together with my husband and my two children.
