Artist Profile: Eric Hibit
As I continue to study contemporary art, I have refined my personal perspective around what artwork I am most attracted to. And, it is abundantly clear that I am a sucker for color and Eric Hibit wrote the book on it. Literally.
Eric is currently our featured artist in Montclair, NJ, and if you live in the area, I urge you to visit to see this show in person. Eric has developed a process for painting and mixed media that allows color to jump off the wood panels that he paints on. His mastery of color also led him to recently write and publish the book Color Theory for Dummies. This book would make a great holiday gift for anyone interested in art making or improving their understanding of how to use color at home or in their life.
I recently had a chance to listen to Eric speak with our students and to watch him work with them in the studio as well. He is one of the nicest, smartest and hardest working artists that I know. It is our mission to “teach through the lens of living artists” and we are grateful to have Eric Hibit working with us today.
