Tell us a little bit about you and your background.

I’m an average nerdy art teacher. I graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas College with a B.F.A in Visual Arts. I’ve had experience from teaching painting classes and creating comics, to framing final artworks. From those ventures I got to see the creative process from beginning to end. My passion is creating character designs for tabletop and video games.

What attracted you to work at One River School?

What attracted me to One River was the creative atmosphere. Everyone here is so passionate about art, I believe that’s the best kind of environment to create in.

How would you describe what it is like to teach here?

It’s exciting, the days are never boring. Passing along knowledge that I have learned to new artists is amazing.

What makes attending classes at One River fun and compelling?

The students. They come in with excitement, wanting to learn new skills. It’s always fun if they learn something new each class.

Is there a special One River moment that stands out for you?

The summer spray painting class. The final results of these large canvas resting next to each other around the room. It’s the final step back moment that makes such an awesome impact, especially for the students, they get to see what they achieved with hard work.

What do you enjoy outside of One River?

I enjoy creating webcomics and story illustrations. I don’t think there is ever a time I’m not surrounded by art.
