Tell us a little bit about you and your background.
I am a Yonkers native with a big family and strong love for the arts. I graduated from Manhattanville College in 2020 with a BA in Theatre Performance. I have been performing both in Westchester and in NYC for over 8 years, and recently transitioned to focus on film work during the pandemic. As an actor and growing business professional, I’ve spent the last several years working in administrative leadership, event planning, sales, marketing, and brand development
What attracted you to One River School?
Coming from a Performing Arts background and years of gig work, I wanted to find a job within a company that was heavily focused on arts impact, outreach, and education. Discovering One River was something I wish I had locally to me while growing up.
How would you describe your role here?
Within the last 7 months my role has transitioned from Students Services Coordinator to Assistant Director. I am the Front of House face for all interactions with members. I get to know their artist goals, family life, and even hear about the occasional tough Kindergartener day! I also handle our local marketing campaigns, event planning, social content planning, administrative recruiting and training, sales tracking, and web editing.
What do you think we do best at One River School?
Creative Education without the pressure of being perfect. We offer a learning environment that is centered around member development, growth, and love of what we do. This goes for not just our members, but for our staff as well!
Is there a special One River School moment that stands out for you?
I had a morning where a 1st grade student showed up 40 min early for class. We hung out at the desk while she colored. I randomly changed the music to a Selena Gomez Album from 2020, and discovered she knew all the words to most of the album. Major karaoke session for 10am!
What do you enjoy outside of One River School?
Outside of One River I LOVE going to six flags, training at the gym, a long beach day, performing on stage, and organizing photoshoots!
