Twice a year we do student exhibitions that allow everyone in our system to create an object and share their outcome with the world. It is a profound experience to see how students tackle an assignment knowing in advance that their artwork will be on display next to their peers.

The process of learning to make art is a journey. And there is no real objective measure of success. But, along the way, there are milestones that allow you to benchmark where you are, where you came from and perhaps, learn a little bit about where you are going. I love this because it’s also a metaphor for life.

Every one of our schools has a current exhibition on display right now that demonstrates the amazing commitment of our staff and students and I couldn’t be more proud of the work that everyone has done.  Please go visit and tell your friends.  It’s just like learning to play music and performing it live… The challenge of articulating something on paper or canvas or digital media and then sharing it with the world proudly.
