The Joy of Sharing
It is so amazing to watch the joy on students faces when they are clearly satisfied with their creative outcomes. Whether it is an experienced adult or a developing young artist, the joy when they share their work is the reward I get when I think about the value of One River. It reinforces why I do what I do and that goes for each and every one of us who work at One River School.
People define themselves not but what they have but by what they do. Art experiences build character, ingenuity, confidence, intelligence, social grace…in total, they make us better and provide a compelling window into who we really are. And, when you learn the discipline of tackling a creative project and making an artwork that is personal, unique and well done, it is something that deserves to be shared!
I find people fascinating and that is probably at the root of why I created an art school. I like to tell stories about what we do and the value our students derive from One River. Every once in a while, the image tells the story way better than any words can. Today happens to be one of those days.
PS: Hillary Doyle painting in the background is amazing!
