Monday Thoughts: Winter
Are you done with it yet? No matter what happens, every year at this time I start to take a deep breath and prepare myself for the final push through February’s doldrums. But, this year I have some new tools that are helping me deal with these gray, cold days.
Here is my trick: I am getting up one hour earlier, and spending a solid two hours on myself every morning! This allows me to start the day with a great sense of my short term and long-term priorities. I have also added a few creative art projects that I get to spend some time on. I am focused on maintaining a solid exercise routine as well.
Winter steals some things from us. Daylight. Sun. Warmth. Outdoor activities. And, along the way it challenges our psyche. Try treating yourself to some quiet planning, reading, painting, writing. Do whatever it takes to keep you focused and invested in some things that add to the quality of your life and balance the dog days of winter.
