What effect can you have on kids by giving them an audacious goal with professional tools and resources? Game Changing!!! This past January, we took 11 young artists, gave them a studio of their own for six months, with guidance from pros, visits from world famous artists and tasked them with the assignment of making the most compelling work they have ever made. We call this program Art Effect…read more about it here. This Saturday we will mount our first Art Effect exhibition in Boston! Read about it here and please tell your friends in Boston to visit us at Dorchester Art Project. It is a one-day pop up exhibition and I am going to be onsite talking about the program and sharing the work with the public. It is not easy transforming art education…but that is our goal. It is built on a method that we have developed that makes learning art fun. It is also about sharing our outcomes so that the world can see the effect we are having people. This Fall we will be making visits to Philadelphia and New York City and I am proud of this new layer in our program. Our river is flowing!
