Announcing Art Expand

One of the coolest things we have done at One River is program world-class exhibitions in Englewood, NJ. It’s a central part of our mission to close the culture gap that exists between the city and suburbia.  Now we are announcing a brand new program for 2016 that will bring national awareness and exposure to our exhibitions. Say hello to Art Expand!

Beginning in early January ‘16, One River School of Art & Design will presentArt Expand 2016, a series of solo exhibitions by emerging artists. Each exhibition will demonstrate the featured artist’s unique approach to their craft.

The act of sharing what is relevant and potentially important allows us to demystify contemporary art for people who don’t get an opportunity to visit galleries in New York City. I’m in awe of the artists who are participating in Art Expand 2016 – they embody all that is good in art. They’re smart, gifted, hardworking, and share a unique perspective that’s clearly articulated in their artwork.

The exhibition schedule for Art Expand 2016 is as follows:

Ryan Schneider 1/16 – 2/28
Siebren Versteeg 3/5 – 4/17
Ross Simonini 4/23 – 6/5
Shara Hughes 6/18 – 7/31
Conor Backman 8/6 – 9/11
Ted Gahl 9/17- 11/6
Yevgeniya Baras 11/12 – 12/31

Each of the participating artists has exhibited in recent shows in New York, and some have appeared internationally and at important art fairs including Art Basel within the last year.

Special people doing special things at a place we call One River.
