Meet Chris Job: Advanced Teen Artist @ One River School
It’s about people. What we do everyday is about getting inside people’s brains to scratch around a bit. You don’t just wake up one day and become a great artist…or writer…or musician. It takes time, patience and some god given talent. And if you reinforce the right things along the way, you will certainly demonstrate success.
Last week I was walking through the school and Chris Job, one of our advanced teen students, stopped me to tell me that he was about to go on some interviews with various art universities. So, I asked him to show me the goods…I wanted to see his current work and I also wanted to offer some assistance in the interview process.
Take a look at the really rad artwork above. Need I say more? This is a linoleum print / mixed media project that Chris created in our Teen Art Shuffle Plus class. The fact that Chris could adapt this historically important method of art-making in a way that feels current and cool is a testament to his capabilities. It is also an indicator that One River School is really connecting students with sustainable skills and super innovative ideas that make art-making even more fun. You go Chris!
