It’s not so easy starting and building an art school.  Take a look around…how many really cool, super successful art schools exist in the community?  How many don’t rely on grants and external funding…virtually none.I don’t ask this question to toot our horn or to offer some “woe is me” story, I bring it up because we are building One River to be a new direction in creative education for all ages and our goals are very clear.  One of the goals we have had from the start is to be a place where the most progressive teen artists can build the basics that are required of great professional artists: conceptual / creative thinkers with sound technical skills.Last fall we launched our most progressive classes to date: a series of Advanced Classes for Teens.  These eight-week classes are rigorous AND fun…and we have a new session starting in two weeks with three amazing classes in drawing and painting.

Just think, until recently you had to schlep into the city, pay tolls and gas, fight traffic, pay parking and more just to have your teenager take a cool advanced art class.  That is why we exist…to import NYC arts and culture to Bergen County.  Be cool and stay local!
