James Gandolfini

What can I say that hasn’t been said? The character James Gandolfini played, Tony Soprano, has become an icon of pop culture as the result of David Chase’s brilliant imagination and the one of a kind artistry of James Gandolfini. A small town boy from Westwood, NJ, right here in the heart of Bergen County, who went on to become among the most legendary actors of our time. What an inspiration!Gandolfini’s life should be celebrated because it is the classic example of someone who put passion ahead of practical thinking, art and its inherent risk taking ahead of a purely structured career. Check out his life story: Rutgers graduate working a variety of post college jobs who got the acting bug and threw caution to the wind.
The amazing genius of Gandolfini is embedded in his ability to absolutely become the character he was portraying; this inevitably blurred the line for the rest of us all when we thought of him. Was he James Gandolfini or Tony Soprano? To me he was a legendary artist, father and husband. Someone who trusted his belief in himself, James passed away way too young for us to comprehend. We celebrate his life because he made ours more special and joyful.
