Every day I come to work I meet and connect with countless students of all ages and backgrounds and they all have one thing in common…they are motivated to push their creative potential. Meet Noelani Renderos. She is one of our most innovative students and has found a home here at One River studying art and digital art.

Noelani draws and paints from a field of imaginary people, creatures and worlds and I have been really moved by her art outcomes and the expressive, honest way she describes what she does. Noelani is part of this movement … people interested in art and design who allow their interest in making objects to take them in new and different directions.

Science and Math are the kingpins…but somehow art-making and creative thinking are catching up. That’s because the process of making cool things and challenging your brain to think in an abstract way builds a more adaptive brain. And this helps you navigate your career, problem solve things in your personal life and it gives you a lifelong outlet to continue to explore your hobby.

Make stuff because its fun and its good for your heart and soul. Just ask Noelani.
