Sometimes I have to bang the table and tell people to come and look at the art we are exhibiting. I am proud to say that in the four years that we have been at work developing our “school”, we have also created a reputation for showing emerging artists that are on the cusp of becoming quite important in today’s art world.

Shara Hughes has it. I have watched Shara over the last few years and her work is undeniably fresh. Shara current exhibition ‘Here & There’ is on display a One River School for the next month and I urge you to take a minute and stop in so you can take a look at what contemporary art is all about. We love to spend time teaching people how to taste it…much like food and wine from my point of view.

It’s not easy taking real art out of the city and showing it in the suburbs but I believe it has to be done. Artists need to be celebrated and one of our core mission objectives is to “be the voice of contemporary art in our community”. Celebrate contemporary art with us.
