Tell us a little bit about you and your background.

As a proud Navy brat I’ve had the opportunity to live in many different places including Taiwan and Hawaii.  I have a degree in International Relations and another in Fashion Design and had the thrill of studying art in Paris for a semester.  I am ridiculously proud of my 2 sons and happily married to my college sweetheart.  And I can’t believe my good fortune that I’ve gotten to be 2 of the things I wanted to be when I was a kid – a fashion designer and an art teacher. 

What attracted you to work at One River School?

I started out as a OR parent and was so impressed with everyone I interacted with and how welcoming and accommodating they were for my son who has special needs.  You could tell both the teachers and students were really happy to be there.  I wanted to be a part of the party!

How would you describe your team?

Fun and focused – we never take ourselves too seriously and are constantly collaborating and brainstorming.  I have such respect for everyone I work with.  How lucky am I to work with people I would choose as friends?

What do you think we do best at One River?

I love that we truly see all of our students as individuals.  We respect the artist in even the youngest of our students which means no cookie cutter results.  From FOH to the classroom, we are always putting students first.

Who or what motivates you?

My family motivated me to start this new career and I’m so grateful for their support.  I’m excited everyday to help people tap into their creativity – EVERYONE is an emerging artist.

What do you enjoy outside of One River?

Just spending time with my family is a treat, but I also love exploring big cities and little towns and having my toes in the sand whenever possible.
