On Plan or Pivot?
One of my strengths is that I’m constantly thinking about my goals and measuring how I’m doing relative to my plan. I love the term “pivot” because it is empowering and allows me the control to flip the switch and move in another direction at my discretion.
Whether you are trying to get your kids through the school year or you’re dealing with work challenges, it’s a constant struggle to make sure that you are spending your time in the most thoughtful way. No matter what challenges I face, as we move deeper into Spring, I love to use this time of year to think more thoughtfully about how I am doing relative to the goals I set for myself, since I still have abundant time to refine and reset.
Life is a bit like making art. Paint a little, reflect, paint some more and then decide if you need to make substantial change, minor change or plow through. So, smile and take a minute to look at your life painting four months into this year and see if you are on plan or need to pivot.
