Tell us a little bit about you and your background.

I graduated from Sussex County Community College with an Associates degree in Studio Arts! I’ve been drawing my entire life and over time grew an interest in character illustration and comics!

What attracted you to work at One River School?

The absolute range of classes was so wonderful to see. I grew up with studio art classes, and I always had a focus on digital illustration. It’s so incredible to see manga and digital illustration/animation as a focus for students here!

How would you describe what it is like to teach here?

I love to teach all classes from studio to digital, but the topics of character design, story building, and world building intrigues me the most! Having students use their imagination and originality to think outside the box leads to such creative results!

What has been your favorite project to teach and why?

I’ve been able to do a few comic classes where students make their own comic pages! That’s always such a fun project, no matter what the medium is!

Is there a special One River moment that stands out for you?

Truly any interaction with my coworkers and students always brightens my days. Everyone is so welcoming and kind and we all look out for each other. There’s also such a joy in being able to teach all forms of art mediums and see how bright the future is for creativity in the world.

What do you enjoy outside of One River?

I love to play video games, sing, and hang out with my cat Pipsqueak! Sometimes I’ll settle for a good Netflix binge. Anyone got any recommendations?
