Tell us a little bit about you and your background

My name is Danielle and I am the Director in Manhasset. I am originally from California and have lived in New York for 15 years. I moved to New York for grad school and obtained my Masters in Fine Arts from Columbia University School of the Arts in 2013. My background is in the Performing Arts world, and after touring as a stage manager extensively, I found myself working at a children’s acting school and made the change to arts education about 10 years ago. With a survival-job hiatus after the school had to temporarily close because of the pandemic, I decided to re-enter the arts education field and here I am. 

What attracted you to work at ORS?

I am a big believer in looking for the signs that will show you where you are meant to be and I started seeing signs in so many places for One River. I decided to act on this and did some research, applied, and then was called for an interview. I was mainly attracted to an institution with so much support and resources for helping to figure out solutions to things. This was something I knew going into a new position would be so welcomed, and it has been! 

What do you enjoy outside of ORS?

I love to travel and spend time with my wife. We just celebrated 8 years together and 1 year married! I also love being a mom to our cats, Boo & Rizzo. I also enjoy going wine tasting, a good spa day, and any museum. Really any adventure that involves relaxing I am up for!
