Tell us a little bit about you and your background.
I received a BA in Art History from American University in Washington, DC in 2016 and I decided to come back to Bergen County, NJ where I grew up after graduating. I started at One River as the Assistant Director opening our second location in Allendale and I moved to a corporate role in 2019.

What attracted you to work at One River School?
It’s funny because I responded to a job posting that did not disclose the name of the business but was looking for candidates passionate about art education. So, I guess you could say a passion for art education is what attracted me. When I first walked into One River, I really wished I had an art school like it when I was a kid. Growing up about 20 minutes from Englewood, I would have definitely been a student. My mom struggled finding great art classes for my sister and me when we were young. We ended up in a local high school teacher’s basement art class with students of mixed ages. It definitely didn’t have the energy and fun vibe of One River.
Is there a special One River moment that stands out for you?
The first summer in Allendale really stands out. We were still learning a lot as a young school and trying to find our rhythm. We had an unbelievable summer and so many new students came through our doors but what really stands out were our teen campers who found a community at One River. For some students it’s difficult to find a lot of other teens with similar art or manga interests so seeing these campers find all of these students just like them was really rewarding. They all exchanged info at the end of camp because they had such a great time that they wanted to hang out again outside of camp. I think that is probably one of the things that we do best at One River…creating a community that fosters friendship for our students.
What do you enjoy outside of One River?
I love to run. I try to run an average of about 12-15 miles a week. I also enjoy traveling, baking and spending time with friends and family.
