A Diamond in the Rough

I spent the weekend in Providence Rhode Island, and went on a historical walk that blew my mind. It was my first time there, and notwithstanding the fact that I knew Providence was rich in American history, I had no idea how beautiful the architecture and monuments would be.

So, as I was walking along and taking in the sites, I stumbled upon the building you see above…this strange and beautiful diamond in the rough is part of the Providence Art Club! I can’t make this up…I stumbled on the most interesting building that celebrates the very same things that I do with my life and it stopped me in my tracks!!!

Karma in Providence? Artists attracting artists? Lucky, fortuitous moment? An incredible diamond in the rough!

Matt Ross is the Founder of One River School of Art + Design. Since 2012, One River has grown from one location in Englewood, NJ to fifteen schools in six states with a goal to “transform art education” across America. Prior to One River School, Matt was the CEO of School of Rock, where he built the company into the world leader in music education for kids.
