There’re so many ways for teens to express themselves through visual art but it quite often comes back to fun and interesting character development. While visiting schools and checking out our student exhibitions, I took photos of just a few of the cool characters I connected with. 😀

What I really like about these outcomes is that they are all in black and white. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a color fanatic and think of color in art work like I think of spice in food. But when you see really well rendered characters in black-and-white, it forces you to look a little bit deeper to follow the line and to think a little bit more about the personality and potential story behind the image.

Summer camp is coming and I’m certain there’s so many ways our campers will challenge themselves to create cool characters. And, I can’t wait to meet some new characters along the way.
