Frequently Asked Questions
We build the most fun place to teach art. A place where our students love to spend time. A school that doesn't feel like “school”. A building that works really well for providing our amazing services. A center that pushes people to tap into their creative potential. A company that partners with franchisees as business advisors, not as governors. One River School of Art + Design is attempting to change how we teach art in America. Your life will change as a result of participating in this venture.
We look for someone who is a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, and who isn’t afraid to work hard! Sales experience is a plus, but not required. Confidence, a history of community involvement, and an existing network all make for a great Editor. Our franchisees have a love for all things local; an elevated taste for style, travel, and décor; and a passion for telling the stories of the businesses in their town.
The franchise fee is $45,000 with a 9% royalty fee once operating.
The total investment necessary to begin operation of a new One River School ranges from $204,800 to $296,000. This includes the $45,000 franchise fee. If a franchisee is awarded a multi-unit development area, there is a development rights deposit on the future franchisee fees of the additional schools.
We do not currently offer direct or indirect financing, but we guide serious candidates to resources available to identify the best capital strategy for their business plan.
Franchise regulation prevents us from making any representations about your financial performance. However, we are happy to connect serious candidates with some current TSG franchisees who can help to answer any questions you might have. Also, our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) does have some financial information and we would be happy to share it with serious candidates.
Yes, we're happy to share a copy of its FDD with serious franchise candidates after the candidate signs a Non-Disclosure Agreement. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, please fill out our online form and we will reach out to help you get started with the process.
Yes. Each franchisee and key employee of the franchisee spends several days in our headquarters in New Jersey for formal training, and you will have a dedicated partner to guide you through the process of building the school, training additional staff, and a successful launch. After opening, you will receive ongoing support from our HQ team.
No, but you do need to be passionate about the mission to transform art education! We have developed years of lesson plans, and our proprietary curriculum will be shared with the franchisee and the school's Director of Education as you are trained for the grand opening!
Yes. If you are interested in pursuing the franchise with a partner, please have your partner apply for the franchise as well, as both parties will need to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement in order to move forward with the discovery process.
