One River's Teen Art programs are built around our unique, project-based curriculum that celebrates the most compelling artists and techniques from today and the last 50 years. We make learning art fun and produce ambitious artistic outcomes across a wide array of materials, subject matter and complexity. Students have fun, develop their personal art skills, gain knowledge of art history and make friends.
TEEN ART SHUFFLE
Teen Art Shuffle is revolutionizing art education. This interactive method that we developed celebrates Contemporary Art by teaching the lessons of the last fifty years of art-making across drawing, painting, sculpture and mixed media. Classes meet once per week and new students can start at any time. Students work side by side and experience a wide variety of projects. We vary the materials and concepts so that students develop new and different skills while having a lot of fun. Teen Art Shuffle is offered for beginner and advanced students.
TEEN ART FOCUS
Teen Art Focus classes offer our teen students a fun and disciplined experience by taking a deep dive into one specific medium at a time. Our classes meet once per week for 90 minutes and this is a great class for improving and focusing on technical skills. We apply our project based learning approach so students have working through a variety of lessons that change every 4-5 sessions. As a result, they grow their skills and have fun. Focus classes are offered in drawing and cartooning and are good for all levels.
The Portfolio Development Program at One River School is the most comprehensive and sophisticated approach for helping pre-college teens create a portfolio that expresses their individual artistic sensibility. Our program has helped numerous students achieve entry into prestigious art schools nationally. While revisiting the fundamentals of drawing and painting in the classical tradition, our curriculum connects students to what is relevant in today's art world providing a more compelling narrative to their portfolio.
