The pop-up Art Effect exhibit arriving October 8 at Dorchester Art Project in suburban Boston answers the question,“What happens when teen artists are immersed in a unique six-month studio residency program that provides them with dedicated work space, unlimited materials, and access to world-class art educators?”
Featuring more than two dozen works by 11 suburban New Jersey art students aged 12-17, some of whom will be on hand, Art Effect will introduce the Boston market to a new direction in art education. One River School of Art + Design is the first in a new, national network of franchised art schools with the mission to “develop the next generation of Basquiats and Warhols,” as recently noted by the New York Times.
One River School and Art Effect students begin the first stop of their traveling exhibition at Dorchester Art Project, a unique space for Boston based emerging artists, in the midst of the city’s largest and most dynamic neighborhood. DAP houses fourteen artists’ studios, a gallery, and a performance space.
Matt Ross, Founder of One River School and the 11 featured students will talk to attendees of Art Effect, October 8 at Dorchester Art Project, located at 1486 Dorchester Ave., in Dorchester, MA, 02122. Exhibit hours are from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. For additional information, contact Dorchester Art Project at (413) 265-0543 or One River School national headquarters at (201) 266-5244.
