Adults Creating, Learning and Growing
Nothing makes me happier than seeing one of our adult students sharing a completed project. And the joy on their face doesn’t simply represent the pride that comes with making something, it also represents the personal development that comes with the process.
Sandra McSorley, a student at our Middletown school, created this cool mixed media object, and she shared so many stories during my recent visit there about what artmaking does for her. In fact, every morning that I visit our schools, I carefully watch our adult students and I am reminded that what we do is maybe even more important for adults than it is for our K-12 students! The friendships, the growth, the learning…it all feeds into an extraordinarily healthy way to engage in something that we can enjoy forever.
We created Adult Art Shuffle so that our experience would be different…individually focused, personal and calibrated for all skill levels. Shuffle things up and give us a try.
